Rearranging pionless effective field theory

Webb17 apr. 2002 · We show that processes involving pions that remain very near their mass-shell can be reliably computed in the pionless effective field theory, with the pion … WebbWe show proper renormalization of our calculation analyzing the residual cutoff dependence of observables. We find that next-to-leading order corrections contribute about $4\%$ to the triton decay Gamow-Teller strength. We show that these conclusions are insensitive to different arrangements of the effective range expansion.

This redundancy is best exploited … WebbIt is referred to as pionless EFT because of its origins in nuclear physics, where it is used to describe nuclear interactions with e ective degrees of freedom without explicitly including the strong nuclear force, which is mediated by pion exchange. However, it may also be referred to as short-range EFT in non-nuclear contexts. Webb24 okt. 2009 · Effective field theory (EFT) has been recently used for the calculation of neutron–deuteron radiative capture at very low energies. We present here the use of EFT to calculate the two-body photodisintegration of the triton, considering the three-body force. WebbAbstract We review the effective field theories (EFTs) developed for few-nucleon systems. These EFTs are controlled expansions in momenta, where certain (leading-order) …
