They don’t want drivers hitting shots too far, heads being abnormally large, too much loft being on wedges (coming soon), shapes of drivers helping you hit more fairways or face grooves being to big and sharp. The new groove rule they announced will take effect in 2010. WebCurrently, the clubs PING ships as replacement and/or fill ins for such models have the original groove dimensions of that model, and are grandfathered under the USGA and the R&A Rules of Golf for most amateur purposes -as described in Section 2 above.
