It should actually be pretty easy to argue with your DM, look up the grappled condition in the PHB status conditions, no where does it say attacks have advantage against a grappled target. WebBy not using the Grappler feat, you can grapple and make a creature prone, sitting on top of them, granting you advantage on every attack and the grappled and prone creature disadvantage on every attack. This situation shows that the benefits of not having the Grappler feat is better than actually having the feat.
